Technical glitch reveals Nasty C as winner Best International Act Africa



The organisers of the award have sparked some drama with their website mistakenly revealing the South African multi-talented rapper to be the winner of that category.

The BET Awards has slipped up again, this time, the website of the network revealing South African Hip Hop act Nasty C as winner of the Best International Act Africa 2017.

The Best International Act Africa category has nominees from Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana facing off and contesting keenly for the award. They include Nigeria's Wizkid, Davido, Tekno, and Mr Eazi, Ghana's Stonebwoy, and South Africa's AKA, Babes Wodumo and Nasty C.

This category together with some others was said to have been leaked on the company's website and later quickly pulled off.

But fans of the rapper had already scooped evidence of the revelation from the website and fed it to Nasty C who posted it up on his Instagram page asking th BET folks if he was being pranked or something.

BET eventually released a statement explaining what happened: “An unforeseen technical issue on BET.com’s BET AWARDS show page resulted in several categories revealing randomly selected nominees as winners. We apologize for the confusion to all of the artists affected and to our fans.”

The BET Awards 2017 takes into account achievements that took place in 2016.

Fans all over would have to wait till Sunday June 25, 2017 to get an actual confirmation of the African winner.
